Good morning, everyone. It's my great honor to stand here and share my teaching plan with you. The topic of today’s lesson is “My Family.” This lesson is designed for students in Grade 3, and it falls under the unit titled “People Around Me.”
First of all, I would like to explain the teaching objectives. In this lesson, students are expected to be able to understand and use some basic family-related vocabulary such as father, mother, brother, sister, grandfather, and grandmother. They should also be able to ask and answer simple questions about their family members, such as “Who is this?” or “How many people are there in your family?”
Next, let me talk about the teaching methods. To make the class more interesting and interactive, I will use a combination of visual aids, songs, and group activities. Visuals like pictures of families will help students connect words with real-life situations. A short and fun song about family members will not only help them remember the new vocabulary but also create a positive learning atmosphere.
In terms of classroom activities, I will start with a warm-up game where students guess who is in the picture. Then, I will introduce the new words through a story or a role-play activity. After that, students will work in pairs to describe their own families using the new vocabulary. Finally, a quick review session will be held to check their understanding.
For the assessment part, I will observe students’ participation during the activities and check their ability to use the new words correctly. At the same time, I will encourage them to give each other feedback, which can improve their speaking skills and confidence.
In conclusion, this lesson aims to build students’ confidence in using English to talk about their families. By making the content relevant and engaging, I believe students will not only learn the language but also enjoy the process of learning.
Thank you for your attention. I look forward to your valuable suggestions.
